"Infected spider bite"

I was bitten on my leg around a week ago by what we think was probably a spider. Within a week it was getting more swollen, painful and hot and the infection was spreading from the site of the bite.

I looked online at the NHS 111, answered some questions and it said to go to my local minor injuries clinic. I went along to the UTC department at St Mary’s in Newport and the receptionist, nurse and Dr were all friendly, efficient and sorted me out with antibiotics very quickly.
