"Myocardial Perfusion Scan"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Cardiac Investigation Unit

(as the patient),

My appointment was at the beginning of August and, as the explanatory leaflet asked if I suffered from claustrophobia I was nervous and unsure that I could endure the scan as I am a sufferer. I realised that if I backed out the Consultant cardiologist would be justified in washing his hands of me.

The scan team of Joy ,Ashley, Lisa and Peter (I hope I got that right) were understanding and reassuring. During the 2 hours I was in their care they consistently hit the right note by putting me at ease with conversation and quiet banter but always demonstrating absolute professionalism and expertise in all they did.

I have no doubt that like all of the NHS this team was overworked but I never would have guessed it judged by the care and consideration that I received
