Anything else?
I am an 84 year old retired GP who went in to have revision of a total right knee replacement, the original done in May 1996 at another hospital. I was admitted to the Horder about noon on Wednesday, March 27th,, for surgery later that afternoon. On the following Saturday afternoon I was discharged, walking with two sticks and fully conversant with and practised in the exercises I needed to continue at home to restore mobility.
Tomorrow, just seven weeks post-op, I return for Follow Up. In the house I have dispensed with sticks. Outside I like to have one stick, as I have done for more than a year. With two sticks, on the level, progress is positively rapid. Some swelling and stiffness remain and more time is needed to run in the new knee completely.
From referral to surgery no time is wasted. Prior to surgery three visits to the Horder were necessary to make the meticulous preparations that ensure successful outcomes. None is hurried and every aspect of pre-op preparation and post-op recovery is anticipated. This is most thorough and very reassuring. It results in an absolutely first class service which I am happy to recommend without reservation.
