"Treated with respect and dignity"

About: Six Degrees Social Enterprise (CIC) / Salford bereavement therapy service

(as a service user),

I have been living with varying degrees and intensity of depression for the past 40 years. For many years undiagnosed, when it first revealed itself I had 6 months attempting to get antidepressants from my doctor who finally acquiesced. I have had smaller or larger episodes over the years, but it finally felt that I had to engage and attempt to manage my problem.

This is the first time that I have properly engaged with Mental Health professionals, and the results have been revolutionary. I have seen my problems for what they are, and for the first time I feel able to deal with the situation and actually manage a crisis effectively. I have been given the tools and resources for this by the caring individuals who have helped me to empower myself during the course of my treatment. I feel that I have been treated well, with respect and dignity. I thank you for your assistance and will continue to advocate that people use Mental Health Services without fear or stigma.
