"Very mixed experience"

I waited 2 years for botox injections and was seen after a complaint however they couldn't perform the operation as I needed to go under GA.

Another 9 month wait. I had to complain again and was seen within 3 days. But why should I have to complain to be seen.

The pre op went well. I explained I was alone but my neighbour would be around etc and I would get a lift in.

On the day my lift was sick so I called and explained and said I could take the bus and back.

They reply no problem.

What a disaster on the day. I'm an adult. I can make decisions. I was told a little bluntly that they wouldn't be able to give GA as someone needed to pick me up and someone needed to be at home. 2 hours of debating then occurred. Pre op knew this in advance, the staff member I saw in the morning knew this.

I have mental issues and very small small social network. I cannot pick up the phone and call on a tonne of friends because I don't have that option.

I finally did manage to find someone after stressing myself out.

Terrible experience and I know the reply will quote me anaesthetic rules by the hospital but again wrong information was given out.

BUT

The nurse that looked after me after my operation was outstanding. Went above and beyond. I cannot thank them enough.
