I unfortunately had a miscarriage & was brought into Gynaecology day ward at the QEUH hospital, for medical management of miscarriage. After the procedure, my body retained some of the pregnancy tissues & I started to have a big bleed. This resulted in me being taken to theatre to have the rest surgically removed to stop the bleed.
The 2 staff nurses on shift Julie & Claire, and also the student Katie, were all absolutely amazing with me. They stayed calm & reassured me consistently. They made what was a very scary experience for myself a little less scary. Dr Powell was also amazing, she has such a warm & pleasant nature. I felt at ease going to theatre with her. All in all, a really horrible experience that was made that little bit more pleasant due their diligence, quick acting & fantastic bedside manner.
On my return from theatre, I was brought to ward 49, where I stayed overnight. All the staff here from catering assistants all the way through to Dr’s have been extremely pleasant, kind, helpful & nothing has been too much bother.
Can’t thank the gynaecology staff enough.
"All the staff were amazing"
