"An intimate and special experience"

About: Maternity care (wards 68, 72 &73) / Maternity care (Ward 68)

(as a service user),

I would like to express my gratitude and thanks to the staff at PRM who cared for me and my baby. 

My labour came on in rapid progression, which we were not prepared for. The midwife, Rebecca, provided a calm and reassuring environment throughout.  Her communication with my husband and I meant we felt informed and in control.

It was an intimate and special experience for the birth of my child and Rebecca was by my side. She managed my pain and I trusted her. She was in control and we were amazed by her skill.

The next day she came to visit me on the post natal ward where I was so pleased to see her. This is an example of her dedication and thoughtfulness. She was patient and kind to us and made us feel special. She is a credit to NHS and midwives.

Dear J533,

Firstly congratulations on the birth of your baby, I hope you are all doing well. Thank you so much for taking the time to share the story of your labour and birth. It can be frightening when labour progresses very quickly and it is lovely to her you had the support and reassurance you needed to cope throughout. It is important to be able to put your trust in the midwife and I am glad she facilitated your ability to remain strong and cope with the labour and birth. I will happily pass on your comments to Rebecca. Thank you!
