"Thank you for the excellent care."

About: Inverclyde Royal Hospital / Maternity care Royal Alexandra Hospital / Maternity care (Ward 31)

(as a service user),

I would like to express my gratitude for the excellent care that I received from Lynne (IRH) throughout my pregnancy and to all the staff at RAH during my time on the maternity unit (in August) my son’s time in the special baby care unit (in August).

Fiona, my midwife during my labour, was so supportive and friendly. She provided excellent care throughout my labour. She even stayed on after her shift to see my son safely delivered.

I required doctor intervention towards the end as my baby was in distress. Rachel, who took over from Fiona, was also very supportive and helped create a lovely experience post birth.

Debbie, on Ward 31A, was a great support as I navigated my first night on the ward with my son. Kathryn  was a friendly and supportive person on the ward as well (as I spent a few more days on the ward than anticipated due to my son being down in the special baby care unit).

The staff in the special care baby unit were all brilliant. They provided excellent care for my son and were so supportive and encouraging as I tried to establish breastfeeding. The nurses and consultants explained everything at each stage so that we understood what was happening and why our son needed the care and treatment he was receiving. Thank you for the excellent care.

Dear A grateful patient A1208

Thank you so much for getting in touch to share this lovely feedback. It is great to hear of the excellent care you have received throughout your pregnancy, labour and after. I will be sure to share this with the team at RAH in particular the staff who you have so kindly taken the time to name I know this will mean a great deal to them.

Congratulations on the birth of your son and I hope that he is doing well following his time in the special care baby unit.

Best wishes

Angela Watt
