In the summer I had an appointment for an endoscopy. I was extremely nervous about the procedure after experiencing a difficult colonoscopy.

After having a call from the clinical Nurse Manager Siobhan I felt much more relaxed. Siobhan spoke to the team who were managing my care on the day of my procedure. They were aware of my concerns and on the day were extremely open about every step of the procedure.

I could not fault the care of my team. Many thanks

Thank you for taking the time to post on Care Opinion, NHS Fife welcomes all feedback. I loved being a Clinical Nurse Manager but decided I needed a new challenge and was extremely lucky to start my new post in July as Head of Patient Experience, which I also love!

I know how nervous you were about returning to endoscopy for another procedure, and I am so pleased that I was able to chat with you and it is lovely to know that our conversation helped to provide you with reassurance and support.

After our telephone cal,l I spoke directly with the Endoscopy staff who were all very understanding of your fears, and I am delighted to hear that they also helped to support you and helped you cope on the day.

Endoscopy procedures can be very daunting, I know firsthand as I have had one myself, but I also know the team played a vital part in helping me too, by talking to me throughout the procedure, letting me know what was happening, and keeping me focused and calm. I think they call it talkaesthesia!!
