"A few words of gratitude"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Day Surgery

(as a staff member),

I would like to say a few words of gratitude to Mr. Komolafe, Consultant Surgeon, Pauline, nurse Endoscopist and all the staff at University Hospital Wishaw Day Surgery Department.

My experience over the last few months caused me a lot of worry and anxiousness due to my concerns about my health, the pain I was experiencing was at times very painful. However, I had the privilege of meeting Pauline and Mr. Komolafe who from the very beginning made me feel at ease that allowed me to know that I was in good hands. Having no medical or nursing background I had my real fears.

I had 2 procedures in the day surgery clinic and I was worried as I had never experienced these kind of procedure before. I would like to say a huge 'Thank You' to all the staff who made my worries and fears less concerning to me, they gave me person-centered-care at its very best, they made me feel at ease explaining everything in detail to me and this reassured me. Mr. Komolafe and Pauline and the staff who supported me during my treatment and procedures were excellent, I  even enjoyed the music in the back ground, I believe Mr Komolafe's choice of music. A special note of thanks to the ward clerks on duty who were extremely helpful in lessening my worries.

In the recovery room the staff were also interested in my well being, making sure I had no concerns, answering any questions I had and allowing me the time to recover at my pace before discharge.

I very much appreciated your kindness and manner.

Dear Socrates10

Thank you so much for taking the time to get in touch and sharing your experience of University Hospital Wishaw, Day Surgery.

It can be a worrying time attending hospital, so I am pleased this was a positive experience for you, that you felt informed and put at ease by the staff. The staff also comment on Mr Komolafes’ music choices some days. It is great encouragement for staff to be recognised and feel valued, it will be a pleasure to share your feedback and kind words with the team.

Kind regards

Karen
