After various tests I was recommended for a Cardiogram at East Surrey Hospital, Redhill. The last time I was in hospital was 36 years ago to give birth to my son - so I was apprehensive. I arrived at the Angiography Suite early but was greeted by staff who had my file and bed all ready and immediately instilled confidence in me. Then Melvin, my nurse for the day, came introduced himself to me. He quickly and very efficiently inserted a canulla, and then continued to care for me for the remainder of my visit. I can't say I enjoyed the procedure, but had every confidence in the Team, who worked together to look after me and I have so much praise for every single member of staff. However, I really have to single our Melvin who I think gave over and above the call of duty. His gentle humour put me at ease, he knew exactly what he was doing and answered my questions patiently and clearly. He really is a credit to the Hospital and the Angio Team and I really can't speak too highly of him. Thank you Melvin - you made my stay an almost enjoyable experience.
