Anything else?
I had the misfortune to spend the entire day today in the Huntsman building trying to get treatment for my fractured foot. I had an appointment in the morning at the fracture clinic during which, although running late, I was seen by a really great consultant who gave the impression he cared and that he understood that I was in significant pain, should receive appropriate treatment and should get ct scanned promptly. Following my scan (carried out quickly and efficiently) I was told to go to the surgical assessment centre to await confirmation of injuries and advice on course of action to be taken. I was then directed to a "waiting room" (little more than a windowless and airless cupboard) to await the consultant/doctor. 2 hours later and I was forced to harangue the staff at reception into getting the doctor to actually talk to me. When he eventually turned up he was most definitely not interested in me, my fracture or my aftercare. He did not offer any advice for caring for my injury, any sort of time course or clarity on what was actually wrong. I have an appointment to return to the fracture clinic next week. I am most definitely notgettingnmy hopes up for it to be either quick or informative. Very very disappointed and dissatisfied.
