About: Regional AAA Screening Programme

The Northern Ireland Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening Programme (NIAAASP) has been operating for 11 years and we have always been keen to hear the feedback of our service users in order to help the service improve and develop.  We have been working with Care Opinion since 01 March 2023 and have been very impressed with the platform and the feedback that we have received.

We believe that using Care Opinion to gain feedback from our service users has given us a greater insight into the service user experience and has increased staff morale as responses are shared with the screening team.

Initially Care Opinion leaflets were given out to our service users when they attended clinic but following the success of Care Opinion and the volume of responses that we received, we developed this further and have now included the Care Opinion QR code on the results letter that each service user receives at their appointment.

The staff within the NIAAASP work hard on a day to day basis to provide a high quality, person centred service and it means so much to all of the team that service users take the time to use Care Opinion to give feedback on their experience.  Care Opinion also allows service users who may not be sure of what to expect when they are called for screening to hear the experiences of others to help them make an informed decision about attending for screening.

We have a number of trained responders and I as one of them feel that it is a privilege to read all of the stories and have the opportunity to respond to them.  If Care Opinion is something that other services are considering I would urge you to take the leap and embrace being part of a service that allows service users to have a voice and allows for service improvement.
