As the end of the year approaches, I have been reflecting on the progress we have made with Care Opinion.  This has been our busiest year to date, and this week we surpassed last year’s total number of stories.  We have seen an increase in the number of stories and the number of responders within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, but also an increase in the percentage of positive stories.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our staff who have embraced Care Opinion; who have sought feedback from our patients, relatives and carers; actively promoted Care Opinion; responded to stories and acted on feedback.

As one of my colleagues said:

“Feedback allows us to celebrate when things go well. But it also allows us to make changes when we don’t get things right. Staff benefit considerably to positive feedback.  It reminds us of why we are here and the positive difference we can make.”

It can be humbling and inspiring to read about the care and treatment our staff provide to our patients, their relative and carers. It amazes me how small things can make such a difference to people. I also know that the feedback helps boost our staff morale. Thank you for all your hard work and dedication and I look forward to working with you next year!

Small changes do make such a difference and it is brilliant you are making

changes all the time. I hope all the many fantastic and diverse elements

of our beautiful, amazing NHS take Care Opinion to their hearts. It is

truly wonderful to see what’s possible when people shift the dial and see

what’s possible and how that benefits more and more people too. Thank you.
