Today some of the Smoking Cessation Specialist Nurse team facilitated an awareness stand for staff and patients in Altnagelvin North Wing building. Over 100 people attended the stand and it was a fantastic opportunity to raise awareness of smoking and the benefits of stopping as well as how to seek help and what support is available to anyone who smokes and want to stop.
I was fortunate to have the opportunity to listen to the specialist team engage with so many people who either smoked themselves or had a loved one who smoked and wanted to find out what support is available to them. Everyone that spoke with the staff went away with new information and resources to help their individual needs. This is a great service that is free to anyone over the age of 12 who smoke or vape and want to stop.
If you have encountered this service in anyway we would value your feedback. it is free, safe, anonymous and you will get a response to your story
