We recently had a complaint from a service user who was unhappy because her psychological therapy appointments always started 10 minutes late. In the course of the investigation we found out this was because the appointments were held at 8am at a GP surgery in the community. The surgery was not scheduled to open until 8 so it was inevitable that the appointments would not start on time. We suggested that all first appointments of the day in GP surgeries were pushed back to start at 10 minutes later, thereby allowing for a slight delay in opening the surgery and meaning the therapist could be set up in her office and ready to start work when the first patient arrived.
Amazing how such a simple thing could make such a difference to the running of the service and the experience of our service users.
So please let us know any of your concerns and queries and we will do our best to resolve them for you. Who knows what difference your comments could make!
