The Best way to receive lots of feedback on Patient Opinion is very simple; make sure that your patients and service users actually know that they can use Patient Opinion!

This week’s blog is going to share a few simple but effective examples of promoting P.O. So have a look, see what you think, and see if you could do something similar, or something even better! The more creative the better!

Cupcakes! Everyone Loves cupcakes and popping the PO logo on goodies is going to get attention. Handing these out gives you the opportunity to not only attract people but also engage with them in conversation and invite them to post a story on PO.

Or if you're feeling super creative you could do something like Locala's CHLASP Service customised condoms. They added the PO logo and QR codes onto these condom bags. Scanning the code takes you directly to the story telling page on the website, already Pretagged to CHLASP! So not only could the people benefiting from the free contraception give feedback about the service in a super easy and helpful way, but CHLASP and the author’s themselves could be sure that the feedback would get back to the right service. Amazing!

Here's a great example from Nottinghamshire Healthcare, who don’t just take materials, but take iPads and feedback leaflets too so that people can submit a story there and then if they want ... In fact why stop there, tweeting a picture of promoting is a pro promotion tip in itself ;)

Banners are perfect for grabbing attention within the service environment. Place it somewhere that people will see it, whether that’s a waiting room, reception area or in a family room. Many of our subscribers are entitled to a free pop up banner stand, so make the most of your promotional materials, just link Wishaw Hospital have done here

Here's a great example from the Children's Outpatients Department at Watford and Hemel Hempstead Hospitals of using a waiting area and the feedback that you already have by printing out some great examples and making a display. Remember it's all about making Patient Opinion as visible and clear as possible.

Displaying stories and changes made on PO in public spaces such as waiting rooms or wards is a great way to not only let your patients and service users know that they can also post a story on PO, but also that, you WANT them to, you want to gain their feedback, listen to it and learn from it! It sets a great example and can put people at ease and give them confidence in your service.

So, good luck, get creative, and if you have any ideas you'd like any help with, remember that we are more than happy to help, so give us a ring on 0114 4010543. We'd love to see how you are promoting Patient Opinion in your service so it would be great if you could tweet us a picture @patientopinion
