Why do we have picture stories?
We hope that picture stories on Care Opinion will make it easier for many more people to “organise their thoughts and express their views”, so health and care staff can hear from more of the people they care for.
This might include people affected by dementia, people with learning difficulties, children and younger people or anyone at all who might find pictures helpful.
Everyone can use pictures to share their story if they want to.
We have developed picture stories in partnership with Talking Mats supported by funding from Life Changes Trust (people affected by dementia programme).
Read more about our journey on our blog, read some picture stories or take look at how one team are encouraging use of picture stories.
Can I use picture stories on my phone or tablet?
The current design of picture stories means that it is difficult to use on very small screens. The picture tiles will be available if your screen is at least 620 pixels wide, but not available if it is smaller.
So picture stories will probably be available if you are using:
- a laptop or desktop computer
- a tablet device in landscape position
And they will probably not be available if you are using
- a mobile phone
- a tablet device in portrait position
In the future, we hope to redesign the picture tiles so they can work well on phones.
