I am no stranger to this hospital unfortunately but I fail to see any improvement . Admitted through elective admissions lounge and problems began immediately , the nurse looking after me although friendly enough was very difficult to understand due to very poor English . I was then made to fill out my own admission pack using an old one as a template . Surely that's not correct procedure . I was assured when I awoke from surgery i would know which ward I was going to however in recovery no bed had been allocated after nearly two hours in recovery I was allocated a bed however the patient was still in it as it was "protected meal time " so a further hour and half later I eventually made it to an orthopaedic ward ( after a urology procedure ) . On the ward none of my usual medications were prescribed no pain relief was given despite asking several times there was also no food available . So understaffed it was ridiculous . For many years I have been in and out of basildon hospital with very complex medical conditions and it is still failing in so many areas. I feel unsafe at basildon hospital and pray that I do not need to attend again anytime soon
"Basildon hospital .......shameful!"
