Despite of lots of negative comments and reviews about Croydon university hospital I gave birth on the 20th January 2016 in this hospital to a beautiful baby boy.
From the time entering the hospital to leaving the hospital I am speechless and so overwhelmed and happy about the service that I have received.
The staff at maternity unit are so friendly, helpful and caring. I went to triage on the 20th at 02 am when my contractions have been in a gap of 10 min. I have been checked out the midwife told me to go back home and come back when the contractions are getting more closer I.e 3 min gap. So me and my husband were waiting in the reception area for someone to pick us up. Within 1 hour the contractions got more closer to a 5 min gap. I went back in and asked the midwife that I got now 5 min gap. As I was already ten days overdue and I suppose to have my induction in the morning they called Hopeward and asked if there is a space for me. As there was a space I was admitted to Hopeward.
Even there the staff was so caring and friendly. Finally I ended up in birth centre and gave birth at 18:35.
All the staff in each department I visited were so friendly.
I want to thank all the staff from maternity unit and may God bless you and guide you. Please keep up the good work.
One suggestion would be the birth centre is so beautiful. I gave birth in the birthing pool. Unfortunately Croydon hospital has only 2 pools if you could get some more would be great.
Thank you.
