The A&E department was shambolic, I arrived with my partner at 3am as he was in terrible pain. We were seen by a doctor by 9am and told that he had to go for an X-ray and an ultra sound. He was soon taken for the X-ray brought back and heard nothing on the ultrasound. The nurses couldn't give him any additional pain medication. The morpheme wasn't working and all the nurses gave him after that was paracetamol! We were in A&E for 12.5 hours and only got seen by the doctor once at 9am. He was then brought to the Flemming ward without being told the reason why, the nurses there didn't have a clue because the A&E staff hadn't written in his notes. So we had to wait for the next doctors to do their rounds before we heard anything else. They were on the ward by 7pm, by this time my partner was still in excruciating pain, he couldn't breath without being in pain. I had to go to the nurses station to tell them he couldn't breathe. The doctors were there too and said they would be right there. They took 45 minutes to come to him. And told us that they had to reassess him because there was nothing in his notes, but he should stay as nil by mouth. By this time we had been in the hospital for 15 hours. He went for a CT scan that evening and waited for the results which came the next morning. 4 doctors came to his bedside and said they had to look at the scan again before deciding what to do. By that evening he had not heard anything. By this time he was nil by mouth for over 24 hours, after getting transferred to another ward, the nurses and doctor still didn't know what was wrong with him, no decisions had been made. They told him no surgery would commence that evening and the doctors earlier that day hadn't even looked at the CT scan again like they had said, but he still needed to stay nil by mouth! We had to insist for the doctor to check and see if he could eat something. It was getting close to 48 hours since he had eaten anything, he was still in pain and didn't know what was wrong. This hospital is the worst one I have ever been to, the nurses are too stretched, the doctors are rarely seen and it is absolutely filthy. Dried blood was on the floor in the A&E cubical and the Flemming ward. The next time anyonw i know that needs a hospital I most certainly will not reccomend for them to visit Hillingdon!!! I will be taking my complaint further than this review
"Wouldnt reccomend. Worst hospital I've ever..."
