Invited to an additional surgical clinic session (part of a reduction of waiting lists initiative) with around 19 hours notice! As I was waiting for a medically necessary circumcision and was available anyway, I was delighted to attend.
From the time I arrived, to when I left, I was impressed by all members of staff - how efficient yet relaxed they were and how they considered my dignity at all times, given the nature of my condition.
The surgeon and anaesthetist were both very informative, prior to the procedure and gave me ample time to ask any questions I had.
As my procedure called for a spinal block, I was awake in theatre. A little surreal, but an opportunity to witness the efficiency and dedication of all staff in there.
After the surgery, I was impressed by the level of care afforded by all staff involved, without exception. They worked very well as individuals and together as a team.
Not a procedure I would want to have repeated but should the need ever arise, I would have no hesitation in returning there. We'll done!
