"Despite staff being really busy, we got the best of attention."

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as a service user),

My husband slipped on black ice and found himself in agony, we feared he had a fracture. We went to casualty rather than minor injuries in view of this.

Despite staff being extremely busy (one week before Christmas, doubtless staffing issues and treacherous weather) we got the best of attention.

Reception staff were sympathetic and efficient, triaging was in less than an hour and we then saw a highly skilled advanced nurse practitioner. He was x-rayed in a timeously and followed up after this.

Despite the negative reports A and E departments are getting in the media, I can honestly say our experience was a positive one.

Thank you to everyone at Royal Alexandra Hospital Accident and Emergency and minor injuries department, in particular Chris the advanced nurse practitioner.

Dear Markaileen

Thank you for taking the time to leave us your feedback on Care Opinion.

I was sorry to hear your husband slipped on some black ice and had to attend the A&E Department to get checked out. You must have both been worried sick.

I was however pleased to hear the care and treatment your husband received was of a high standard and he was seen in a timely manner.

I have passed on your feedback to the staff who have asked me to thank you for your kind words, it's very much appreciated.

Kind regards

Kevin
