We attended Hairmyres A and E minor Injury Clinic this evening for my sons broken wrist. The hospital was extremely busy but we were seen by the only nurse in minors Louise. Despite being the only nurse on shift due to staff shortages, and working a very demanding busy shift, Louise was absolutely brilliant with my son. Full of cheer and explaining everything. She took time to explain next steps and show us how to put on a sling- nothing was a bother. What an absolute credit this nurse is to NHS Lanarkshire-holding the fort so well alone on a busy shift and still with a cheery face and an amazing attitude. Nurses like Louise deserve the pay increase they seek as they are absolutely selfless and just get on with the job.
Please pass on our sincere thanks to her- and I really hope she managed to get a break. I also hope this does not become a regular occurrence for her- burnout is inevitable if so. Louise does a fantastic job. Absolute credit to her profession.
