"Outstanding care and support"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Accident & Emergency Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Acute Receiving Unit (Units 1-5) Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Gastroenterology (Stomach and gut problems) Wards 8b, 8c &8d

(as a relative),

My dad recently attended A&E following a consultant with his amazing GP where they noticed some concerning signs.

His treatment in A&E was outstanding and although he received some devastating news, junior doctor Stewart shared this news with such compassion and kindness. He then had a short stay in ARU 2 where staff were great and supportive.

He was then admitted to ward 8C. The care within this ward was second to none. Everyone had a smile on their face and was kind and caring.

A special shout out to doctor Beth who also delivered news both good and bad and was able to have a laugh and a giggle with my dad throughout this time.

We cannot thank you all enough for the amazing care and compassion shown. True heroes providing support to those who are going through some of the worst days.

A long road ahead which has been made significantly easier by the way in which we have already been supported as a family. Thank you!!

Dear DDCDND

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your story and express your gratitude for the care your dad received. We are deeply touched by your kind words and are pleased to hear that his experience in A&E, ARU 2, and Ward 8C was positive, despite the difficult circumstances.

Our team strives to provide compassionate and high quality care to all our patients, and it is heartening to know that junior doctor Stewart, doctor Beth, and the entire staffing team were able to offer such support and kindness during your dad’s stay.

We will ensure that your appreciation is passed on to them and the other members of the team who contributed to your dad's care.

Once again, thank you for your heartfelt message. We wish you and your family strength and comfort in the days to come.

Kind regards

Kevin

Dear DDCDND,

Thank you so much for taking the time to submit a care opinion especially at such a difficult and stressful time for you all. I am grateful that, despite the devastating news you received, you found Doctor Stewart compassionate and kind, and you were happy with your Dad's treatment not only within the Emergency department, but throughout his whole admission. I will pass on your lovely comments to our staff, they will appreciate receiving such kind words and praise.

I hope you and your family are doing as well as you can and looking after each other.

with kind regards

Karen
