"The MyCare App"

About: Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital (Wonford) / Outpatients

After an appointment at the Royal Devon hospital I was asked to login to the MyCare app, I found this extremely difficult although I got there eventually.

The login process is quite difficult and as a previous web developer and being computer literate myself I found the procedure somewhat lengthy.  Email address, username, password - which has to be a minimum of 12 characters with uppercase, lowercase, symbols etc.  My worry is that other people of my age (over 80) may not have the capacity to remember all this and there is no save information option, they may just give up which could be a worry for their medical requirements.

I will share your comments to the MyCare team. It is something we have had fed back to us previously and as a result we are currently undertaking a piece of work reviewing how we can help patients with the sign-up process. If using a mobile phone, depending on the make, there is the opportunity to use biometrics (thumb/face) which does save having to remember a password. We also have a Helpdesk that can help reset passwords if forgotten.
