I was admitted to a ward because I had a DVT. I was unfortunately only able to be accommodated in the nursing station since their were no beds on the Ward. This was Ward 2 North.
While there I was treated very kindly by all the staff and given every comfort I asked for. I felt like a goldfish in a bowl at times in the main reception area, but that was not the fault of the staff since there were no beds on the ward and I was very grateful to have treatment at all.
I had investigations and great help from the nurses and doctors in explaining the results to me in a very straightforward way. I had very good food provided by cheerful staff who liked a laugh.
Considering the level of sickness in that area of the hospital, I consider myself lucky that I was able to be treated so quickly.
I was first assessed at Urgent care, where again I was treated with dignity and compassion and given a clear explanation of the steps forward.
I can only thank the staff and doctors for all their kindness in very difficult circumstances.
