James' story

James Mwangi is a Podiatry Laboratory Technician and Podiatry Clinical Assistant for Locala Community Partnerships.

“I have a lot of interaction with my clients. The way I communicate, and the relationship I have with them is vital in making sure they leave my department satisfied that they’ve been treated well.

I feel that using Care Opinion has improved these relationships.

“It has created the missing link between service users and the staff who treat them. I think the way PO works empowers my clients to share feedback and to be honest about our services that they may not have felt comfortable doing in others ways.

“I keep a diary of stories collected through the PO website, which I read on a regular basis. It gives me a sense of achievement that what I do as an individual, and also the organisation as a whole, makes a big difference to our clients.

“It is always a great pleasure when positive comments are passed on to us which makes us feel appreciated. Negative comments are also a good thing for all concerned as this pinpoints the areas of concern where changes or improvements could be made.

Reading stories on Care Opinion and knowing we are making a difference motivates me - and on a personal level, knowing I’ve provided a good service boosts my morale.

“What really excites me about my job is that I love working with people and being challenged, and Care Opinion enhances this process.”
