Care Opinion is an online platform for public feedback about health and social care services across the UK.
If you are new to Care Opinion, start by reading our overview for healthcare students.
You can use Care Opinion with or without a subscription from your educational institution (your university, school or college).
"I think the site is excellent, reading good stories is always lovely and reading bad ones makes you think about your own practice. It is highly commendable."
If your educational institution has a Care Opinion subscription
If you have access to Care Opinion as a member of an education subscription, you will have been sent an email with details on how to log in.
When you are logged in, you will find you have access to a range of online tools and resources to help you get more out of Care Opinion, including advanced search, alerting, reporting, tagging and data visualisations.
The platform will record all the stories you read so you can evidence your activity if you need to.
If your educational institution does not have a Care Opinion subscription
If your university, school or college doesn't subscribe, you can still use Care Opinion! But you will be a little bit more limited in what you can do.
You can still search for stories relevant to your studies, and of course post your own experiences if you wish.
You can also help others (students, staff and patients) to understand what Care Opinion is and how they could use it.
Student research projects
Care Opinion has been used for research projects at undergraduate, masters and PhD level.
You are free to use Care Opinion in this way, subject to our Creative Commons licence. If you complete your project, do tell us about it. We love to hear how Care Opinion is being used, and we often share research projects on our blog.
Many research projects will be easier if you have an education or research subscription, or direct access to data via our API. If you think you need this and your institution does not subscribe, please get in touch.
