Reflecting on a year of Care Opinion in Northern Ireland
2023 was the the year that people in Northern Ireland were able to share their story on Care Opinion about their care. All 6 Trusts in Northern Ireland read and respond to stories.
This year, we achieved some huge milestones. This is due to all the dedicated work of each Trust, the work of the Public Health Agency (PHA) and the willingness of the people of Northern Ireland to trust us with their stories.
- Over 7,700 stories have been told
- 114 changes planned or made
- 2,973 staff members listening across the 6 Trusts and the PHA. Plus 5 of these organisations in the top 25 organsations on Care Opinion by numbers of staff involved
- 17 Stories about healthcare that were translated into both BLS and ISL
- 3 members of staff recognized as Star responders at the autumn conference (though in truth there are many many more wonderful responders)
- And 1 PENNA award for Engaging and Championing the Public!
It’s been a privilege to work with our colleagues in Northern Ireland over 2023, and to see their commitment to hearing the experiences of care across the country. We are looking forward to continue our work in 2024.
